@Tidemark I don't have a gardening budget as such but do try to buy seeds, plants, materials such as compost and seed trays when they're on offer and then propagate as much as I can from seed, cuttings, divisions and swaps. Same with my fabric habit - I buy when it's on offer or in the sales.

Good analogy tho and yes, the US doesn't do resilience against costs and climate change. In fact, figures I've seen indicate the US has contributed over $30 trillion to global warming ans it has lost $16.9 trillion in costs from increased climatic disasters such as droughts, storms, floods and hurricanes.

@Philippa unfortunately the pro-lifers are only concerned with foetuses. They care nothing for the pregnant woman, medical during pregnancy, birth and post partum nor health care, housing and education for the babies/toddlers/children that result.

I believe it was referring to "renewable" energy however you want to determine that.

If the UK is only the same size as Oregon ( 1 of 51 states ), then it is hardly likely to be either willing or able to spend as much money on useless and damaging wars as the US.

@Obelix-Vendée I think it may be @Ergates who mentioned Pro lifers rather than myself.

Trump has no more idea of what he hopes to achieve than do those who want to live on Mars.

Add to the senseless waste of dollars being spent on Trumps war, the loss of future trade. Outside of the USA, where we have better access to, and actually read, less biased news sources, many countries are actively seeking alternative business arrangements with anyone but America. Even after, or if, the five or six times bankrupt Trump is no longer in charge, very few countries are going to want to trade with a country that has demonstrated clearly that if a dictator gets into power, it has no way of dealing with him.
Sad to see the end of a 250 year constitution.

I think it’s interesting that my neighbour’s two very clever teenage sons are planning on going to university this autumn, one to study Chinese and Korean and one to study German and Spanish.
