My Multi stemmed Cordyline Cha Cha which is not fully hardy was hit badly during the winter as I left it outside and the two 18" high trunks were cut back and left to see if there was any life left. Fast forward and it is reborn!

Top picture almost looks like a phormium.

Plus: The Colquhounia coccinea that was dead to ground level a month go has come back from below the ground.
Negative: Rather nice Rubus formosensis having come through the drought and the winter chill decided it would keel over. I think that the recent chill winds from the NE were the last straw.

I heavily pruned all the dead stuff from my variegated oleander, it has signs of tiny leaf buds forming.

            Recovery!
Multi stemmed Cordyline Cha Cha is looking better now but a long way to go.

Cordyline Sunrise has sent out new shoots from the base but nothing from C Dazzler.

The Acacia has just started producing new growth from the trunk. The two main branches are totally dead and will have to be sawn off.

Actually not a totally bad result then @strongylodon :blue thumb:

We need a mild winter this year/next so that the new shoots can harden up and get a foot hold.

True @pete, there are still a number of plants that suffered but have pulled through, I have just noticed a few small shoots on the Salvia Amistad, left in the ground, which I thought had died completely. S Hotlips cut back to about a foot died down to the crown but suddenly started growing recently but will not be as high as previous years. I left a variegated Tulbaghia pot out in the freeze and that went to mush. The Acacia will take time but when it does grow I will have to keep it in check.
              Every year seems different.

Another couple of casualties, one was a rowan grown from seed 20+ year ago that has been struggling for a year or so, the other a Cinnamomum camphora, a rather nice small tree with copper coloured young foliage and white flowers and smells of camphor. This has been finished off by the recent cold drying winds from the East. I should have put it in a more sheltered spot initially.

Your regrowing cordyline looks the same as mine did a few years ago. From Each of the cluster of leaves a trunk started growing . I ended up with a lovely setting of five cordylines from the one original.

They looked quite different all seperate but formed a circle. These were a talking point as it was quite unusual.
I lost them all a year ago. Sadly nothing else has strutted up since .but I keep hoping .

Sadly I didn't get any photos , thought I'd have them a while longer than what I did

Since I mentioned that Cordyline Dazzler had no off shoots one appeared while we were away at the weekend!
