They've guaranteed, in writing, that I can just follow the old system of putting the ticket in the windscreen as they have been promising my new modern card for four years now but never sent it.

But wasn't the old method putting your NT car windscreen sticker in the windscreen, as 'tickets' have only just been introduced. Tickets are now only available to those non-members who pay, or NT members who scan the QR code on their new style cards.

If you are simply putting 'that letter' in your windscreen, you are depriving the places you visit of approx.£1 from central NT funds.

I'm not doing anything like that as it's not a car windscreen sticker. We're life members and they keep promising to send us our modern cards with the QR code but they never do it. I don't know anything about this £1 from central funds! And it certainly has nothing to do with us.

My mobile phone is used for talking to people, my camera is for taking images, and my computer is for information etc:dunno:. I do still have a smart work phone but that is used only occasionally and I don't pay for that. So my mobile, used only for talking, is a Tesco phone costing me around £7.50p a month.:dunno::heehee:

Well, my neighbour still uses semaphore when in the garden and asking for a mug of tea from his wife if she's in the Kitchen:dunno::heehee:

My wife and her sisters do talk occasionally on the phone, but more freqently write to each other.

My three granddaughters, have always loved writing. They keep handwritten journals.
i've not worked for twenty years, but even back when i did, the standard of writing and spelling I saw on many employment application forms was atrocious. Even back then mobile phones were impacting on the ability of some to use a pen.

i never call anyone on a mobile number. It's landline or e-mail. Or actually speak to them when I see them.

Scroll through more of my posts and you may find some more missing letters.

Sorry, but I've a really dodgy keyboard on my lenovo lap-top. I have to go back and hit some keys really hard to get them to work. I've tried spraying it with switch cleaner and giving it a go over with a hair dryer on full. But I might have to take in.

I never comment on typos on message boards, as they say, "People in glass houses..."

Always had a cheapo mobile that served me well but now I have upgraded to an iphone. Not a new one but a friend upgraded so I had hers for £50....and I could get hooked on it (the iphone) Ideal companion for my ipad too.
My sim only contract costs me a fraction over £5 a month.....only half a gig of data (all I need on the phone), unlimited texts and 250 free minutes a month. Plenty of data on my ipad, desktop; haggled an excellent deal on my landline too :)
