    What would you plant here?

Its a cottage garden, right at the bottom on the other side of a track/drive. Its under tree cover however it gets good sun up to about 3pm then it's in shade.
    Very good rich soil.

This is the garden plan, the area in gray is the strip i need to plant in , to the left of this is a wooded area with large oak etc.

This is some photos of what its like.

Because of the surroundings I think I'd be inclined to plant wild flowers there. :)

I'd plant it up with plants that have grass like foliage, like croscosmia, monbretia, irises and daylillies maybe a phormium for size and structure and maybe add some ferns. I would also add some bluebells and snowdrops for a natural show in spring. Good luck deciding :)

You could go for the wild look planting; foxgloves, cranesbill, primroses, bluebells, celendine, ferns, wood anemone etc.

Or a more ornamental look; hostas, hellebores, aquilegias, ferns again, snowdrops, crocus, campanulas, the list is endless...

I think if the two I personally would go for the wild look :thumb:

All the suggestions aren't mutually exclusive :dbgrtmb:. You could probably plant almost all of them as they grow and flower at different times of the year.

Dai and Sheals plants can be planted together and most of pixies plants can be put towards the back of the border to give a good background. Bilbo's plants fit with all of these.

How about a 'gravel bed' ?
Using fairly small/fine sized gravel and planting large clumps of Hemerocallis, Echinaceas and grasses there.

And/or perhaps add some of those large tasteful copper (or are they brass ?) 'plants'/structures which are actually water features.
    This type of thing ......
