      Thought I'd turn my hand to baking again - a yummy victoria sponge.

      One problem:

      - price of ingredients - £4.41 + have to buy sandwich tins and prepare/cook;
      - price of a Morrisons 'The Best' Victoria sponge - £2.00.

      That's that sorted then...

          Simple cooking today. Homemade tomato soup (made the other day with sweet potato and herbs). I have some jacket pots cooking in the oven and shall have them with 1lb of runners and ribeye steak. I'll follow that, late tonight (probably early a.m.), with a fresh mango.

                I had spag bol.

                Mrs Shiney had a chopped salad containing lettuce, tomato, sweet pepper, cucumber, fennel, pecan nuts, roasted chicken wings done with garlic and herbs, baba ganoush (a paste similar to houmous but made with aubergine, garlic, lemon juice and tahini) and begonia petals.

                    Made fresh yesterday afternoon. It should last a few days in the fridge.

                              Vegetarian mince mixed with a bit of gravy. Potatoes, cabbage, peas, sprouts, broccoli, carrots and sweet pepper for me with gravy. Sweet pepper is supposed to be good for the eyes eaten of course.

                              The flavour of the mince is ok if mixed with mashed potato and a bit of chillie, getting used to it now, hubby wants to try the vegetarian sausage.
