    @Fat Controller
    Do you make your own naan? And if yes is there a recipe you might be willing to share?

      No, we cheat and buy them - Mrs C makes a garlic butter and applies to plain shop bought naan - although not as good as the Indian around the corner, they are still lovely.

        Yesterday we had home made cream of asparagus soup followed by - for Mrs Shiney, roasted peppers, aubergine, celeriac and red onions with a pesto sauce and for me, home brined and spiced salt beef with chips followed by gluten free apple crumble.

        Today we are having home made cream of mushroom soup followed by stir fried veggies (carrots, courgettes, white cabbage, French beans, mushrooms in a ginger, onion and garlic base and accompanied by very quickly stir fried lightly spiced thin strips of beef fillet. I'll have the rest of the apple crumble. :)

            Poached cod fillet in dieppoise sauce (prawns, mussels, mushrooms, cream and Calvados). Mashed potatoes and the first home-grown peas :wub2: With a glass of rather nice dry white...

              @noisette47 when I read the first two words, I wondered where you stole it from! :rolleyespink: Long day :doh:

              I grilled tube steaks and hamburgers for supper later. Everybody works/eats at different times so I quite often cook in advance for a quick reheat. Afters is whatever can be found in the freezer. There is home made chocolate ice cream ... :)

                    Turkey casserole with Yorkshire pudding (I think)...

                    Bit of a story to this - we were gifted a frozen meat hamper for Christmas, but hadn't many clues to the various meats contained within, other than we had ham/gammon, leg of lamb and beef.

                    Back end of last week, Mrs C suggested we take the leg of lamb out of the freezer for Sunday. Things kinda passed us by on Sunday, so we left it in the fridge and I said I would slow cook it on Monday whilst she was at work. Monday morning, I took it out of the fridge and looked in the packaging - - not lamb, but pork! So, no point in slow cooking that, I will just normally roast it later in the day. Later on, I popped the netted pork joint into the oven, but thought it looked like the longest, oddest joint of pork I had seen...... by the time it was cooked, it turned out to be turkey breast!

                    So, today marks the last day of the surprise turkey...

                      I only plan to make some baguettes for a Bruschetta appetiser later. And the only reason I'm doing that is because I have fresh tomatoes and don't want to waste them. The chile con carne cooked very nicely in the sun oven so that may be the entree.

                        I've roasted chicken wings with garlic salt and herbs to have as snacks. Mrs Shiney quite often has them with a salad for her supper. Mrs S also has cheese and almond snacks - ground almonds, grated strong cheddar, butter, eggs, chia seeds and cinnamon made into small patties and cooked in the oven.

                        Also having chicken noodle soup and stir fried veg.

                          It isn't going to be the last day of turkey... Little C doesn't want any, and there is way too much for two (too much for three as well to be honest) so guess who is having turkey curry tomorrow?

                            French Onion soup for us with fresh baked mini baguettes. I had to use baby onions because T'other Half bought those for some odd reason. :scratch:
