Nothing here ... I had a mashed banana with cinnamon brown bread sandwich. :)

PS I always have to have a little butter on sandwiches unless it is tuna or egg mayo.

It is the banana with the cinnamon ... but yes, I would go for cinnamon brown bread too!

It is already pretty warm here. And I am about to have my breakfast. A lovely scoop praline ice cream in a cone... Okay, no, I'll have that for lunch - now that I see how everyone else here eats such healthy menus, the guilt is kicking in!

Toast with grapefruit marmalade instead

Cooking is enjoyable  and eating even more enjoyable. Roasts at least once a week.

Today I've made a cream of mushroom soup (15 minutes cooking time) and shall have marinated spiced lamb chops with Jacket potato and stir fried veg. Melon and raspberries to follow. :)

 It's best to use a food processor with a grater attachment because doing it with a normal grater is hard on the hand and arm, not a lot of juice comes out and it's best straight from the fridge.

We have ice-cream on a Sunday with pudding. We also have 1 chocolate out of a tin of assortments every day and 1 square of 70% dark chocolate once a day, which is good for the heart.

I've had cooked and chilled beets which were thinly sliced and as a salad at a high end restaurant. Pretty much beets but with grated mozzarella. The pairing was surprisingly nice and I do very much like beets.:)

I've just made the topping for some bruschetta. I already baked the baguette so it will be easy to slap together and bake later.

Yes I like a beetroot and very strong cheddar cheese sandwich.

@Logan I have never heard of using beet root in a sandwich. Sounds lovely. What type of bread is best for that combo please?

@CanadianLori I would use wholemeal bread but anything that you want. Unless the beetroot is grated I would use a cooked beet, over here it's usually a pickled beet.

Thank you @Logan. I haven't made pickled beets in ages but now I've got good reason to do it this year. I think I'll make a loaf of walnut bread (not sweet bread) - those combos might work well. :)
