An australian that I cannot yet identify. Bought as tubestock in Perth by my brother who can't remember plant names... I will definitely be keeping this in greenhouse over winter.

Just try things, it can be surprising what happens.
Positioning is probably the real key to success with borderline stuff.

Hi @KFF tubestock is the way they buy cheap plants in Oz. They are plastic tall narrow pots about 3 cm across. Tiny, but the plants grow fast. My brother brought me some this year... but they are unnamed! One is definitely a banksia, one a hibbertia, but the others ...?

I must admit that I've never taken mine out of the pot. That said the only reason that I spotted the shoots was because I moved the pot from the back of the garage because I had decided to put them in a bigger pot this year.

Our Hedychium densiflorum were very colourful but seemed to finish a lot quicker than normal.

We have some others waiting to flower but I don't know which they are. They're much taller than the ginger lilies but as they stand behind a number of other plants I can't see if they have labels (not able to bend down and forward :old: :noidea:). I'll ask Mrs Shiney to have a look - or wait for them to flower. They're standing about 6ft high at the moment.

This is a fuschia - Lechlade Gorgon (or Gordon - name disputed)

That's what I have it labelled up as but some nurseries call it Gordon and so does the RHS. :dunno:

Just a quick couple of shots of the early morning view from the kitchen window. The bird feeders, in the distance, have dozens of birds around them all the time and tend to distract us from the work in the kitchen.
