I do like strong colours, Woo, with Blue being one of them. I'm not into pink!, and although I do have some pink Geraniums, kept for memories sake, they always appear to be a bit wishy washy!!:snork:

Me too. We've got a lot of those, "left behind" from our attempt at genus-cide ! Found one in a pot labelled "Patricia", which came free with something or other, and its now in flower and the same washy-mauve I've been trying to get shot of.

Our Shrubbery is being converted to Blue/White only, so I agree on the Blue choice :) My Salvia (patens I think?) has just started flowering and "its a cracker" :)

There was a good'un on Gardeners World (only just watched on Sky+). something beginning with "G" (me=helpful as ever!!) ... I'll tootle off to their website and see if it is listed.

I love blue, particularly with yellows and oranges. Van Gogh: 'There is no blue without yellow'. Or something like that.

White flowers seem to be coming out this time of year.

Some of the white campanula are doing their tree hugging impression around a plum and an acer.

            Feverfew have suddenly shot up
            P1130060.JPG

Verbascum chaxii is just starting and there will soon be loads of them in flower
            P1130062.JPG

The double orange blossom has also just opened
            P1130074.JPG

The name of this one has slipped my mind for a moment but it never ceases to amaze me. It has been flowering for a month now and the flowers just last a day. Some days there are a lot more blooms but by late afternoon there isn't a petal left on the plant.

The Phytolacca is also behind in flowering - and leaf growth. It's about two foot lower than normal and the flowers are usually at least nine inches long by this time.

Different colour foliage, heights and structures offset each other quite well but the sun was a bit too bright for taking good photos.

Some of the shorter hebes are also just appearing where we have cut back the Aqulegias and they have started flowering

The white flowered one (top right) has a very feathery grey leaf
                  P1130070.JPG

This peony is just sticking its head above the surrounding foliage

                  These poppies are all self-seeded
                  P1130083.JPG

The heucheras are also emerging from the aquis. I'll put more on the heuchera thread

I'll ask Mrs Shiney if she remembers the name. We've had it for many years (and another one outside my office window. It does, indeed, have a good perfume. I don't like the smell of the ordinary Phillies but this is gentler. :dbgrtmb:

I think this blue Campanula has a place in every garden. This one has settled by the fence lining the pond area.

I noticed the Campanula has taken a liking to the old gate so I'll let it do it's thing and see how it looks:snork:

I have only two Philadelphus, this variegated tall one [name not known, and I can't even remember when it was planted!, and a dwarf Manteau di' Hermine Philadelphus. The tall one you can smell yards away....lovely.
