Those Tellima look fantastic Simbad, and the Campanula is getting exciting too!

Regarding the lucky dip that is Aquilegia this one growing in the shade of the ornamental Cherry is a definite keeper................

Thanks Jenny - I planted the Jap Maple in a pot when my Granddaughter Tilly was born 14 years ago - think it might do better if I repotted it - but don't dare chance it!

Lovely gardens, GA and Simbad. I love to see the different designs and ideas there are.

I have tried growing Acers in pots but have had no success as they never seem to survive the Winters. I have better success with planting them in the borders in a sheltered position....but pots??:dunno::gaah::snork:

The Aquilegias in the borders have so many different shapes and colours in the flowers, you've just got to love them!:hapfeet:

Think I may have to plant some for next summer. When's the best time to plant seeds?

You can plant them any time at all. If you're going to start them in pots then now is as good a time as any other. :dbgrtmb:

We don't cull ours at all and have dozens of different varieties, colours and shapes. This winter has set them back a long way so they are only just starting to open. So these shots are from other years. They can look good en-masse. :)

They are scattered all around our garden. This is the front garden

and this is around the veggie plot - the bees love them :blue thumb:

I get fed up with names being changed so still call them allium siculum :heehee:

They seem to have enjoyed the harsh winter and have spread like mad this year. Though, hardly any are in bloom yet.
