What's this white flower please?

I saw this in some local woods, growing among the long grass.

I think it's a stitchwort, would like a closer look at the leaves though.

Stellaria holostea is Greater Stichwort and as you surmise both it and Cerastium are n the same genus, Caryophiaceae

 

I'm sure this is the the plant that as a child I called 'shirt buttons'. Don't ask me why though.

 

If you do go back for seed, whatever you do don't pick up goosegrass too!

Yes, they'll stick to everything. Danger is they have white flowers too but a different size and shape.

I know sticky buds (cleavers?) all too well. They are extremely common round here, and today I caught some sneaking into my back garden.

 

Think they're common everywhere, just when you think you can sit down because you've finished, up pops another one!
