Well what a day of contrasts ! by lunch time we have clear blue skies and a beautiful day to be outdoors .

However, the gritter truck came down my road for the first time this winter so I suspect tonight and tomorrow will be less mild.

Just as a reminder - If your pets have walked in grit or on gritted roads, it's really important to wash their feet when they come indoors.

I was expecting a bright sunny day, but got a rather cloudy one with the Sun mostly hiding behind them, consequently the temperature stayed in the low 30f's and the breeze did nothing to make it warmer. The temperature now is 33f, one degree off freezing.:coffee::snork:

Well, we've come back to some beautifully sunny days :blue thumb:. Yesterday and today were the sunniest days since October (according to my solar panels).

I've just spoken to my brother in law in New York and he said that the temperature is 50F today. After the freeze, that's almost like summer :). So, with a bit of luck, the lousy weather they've had won't be coming this way.

It's 1C at the moment with frost on the rooves and cars outside. I will get out there and top the bird feeders up.....they need the food in this weather to keep warm.

Heavy frost here overnight - I would go as far as saying that it is the first 'proper' frost this winter.

          Thanks, Jenny :blue thumb:

The front garden is looking OK. I'll put my willies (whoops) wellies on later and go on a tour of the estate :heehee: We have very heavy frost at the moment.

We're actually quite pleased to have come home to this weather (haven't got any rain or wind but, just, sun and cold) as we've been in temperatures of 35C - 42C for the last month. It was good to start with but can become a bit wearing. We had to have a complete change of lifestyle. Evenings started at 9 p.m. with dinner usually around 10 - 11 p.m.!

Dull cold & drizzly here, bit of a frost on the car roof last night, but that had gone by this morning.

Very heavy frost overnight, a few mm of ice on the pond! Midnight it was -1C but don't know how cold it dropped after that... It's hovering around freezing, the frost is hanging around

What a contrast to the past few days. Really heavy frost overnight but lovely and sparkly and sunny first thing this morning. Soon became overcast though and that horrible damp chill in the air. Brrr, don't like it.

It started OK, with fluffy clouds drifting from East to West..:sofa: but its totally grey again now and a bit nippy. Barometer's risen quite a lot so we shouldn't get gales from you know where for the time being,
            Jenny
