Looking at local traffic using the AA app, there's loads of isolated delays, including every single local hill.

EDIT: 2 Jacknifed lorries in 2 different locations blocking road out of village in one direction.

Now it's 4" deep. No traffic going past our house. No flights overhead. I was going to go shopping for food :nonofinger:

It was for the 2 jacknifed lorries, one of which was in the village high street, luckily nobody was killed or injured.

It was bad enought trying to get through snow covered branches blocking footpaths around dawn this morning, but large branches on evergreen trees are now snapping and falling.

More people with kids and sledges heading for the hill than cars on the roads.

We had a light sprinkling of snow last night. The snow plows don't bother coming out until there are at least 4 inches. Not worth dropping a shovel at that. Most people here have snow tyres. Getting through snow up to about 8 inches is okay with those. I can handle deeper with my van but my poor little mustang would end up sitting on top of the snow if there's more than that.

Still snowing here, very tiny articles of it. Like the big flakes myself. Been and knocked as much as I can off the poly tunnel. Did manage a short walk in the tyre tracks down the lane. The shepherd has been to feed the sheep. His big 4x4 gets through easily enough.

When the snow in our road got to 2" deep, I got a couple of spades from the shed. We only had to dig one car out when it got to 4" deep, helping a carer on a call who got stuck in it, who hadn't carried a spade despite making loads of rural calls. We freed her car whilst she got on with her call. Tried lending her one to carry for the rest of her calls until she returned to our street, but without success.

P.S. Got 2 (small) trolley loads of 90% off reductions from one supermarket this afternoon, hardly any shoppers out so very little competition for them, all frightened off by the snow.
