8C start, but the morning was a mixture of cloud and sun, and with that cold northerly.
This afternoon it has felt more like september rather than november.

The wind has dropped and its been mostly sunny, still only around the 18C mark but feeling much better.

The weather is set fair this week, with sun and occasional cloud forecast, and temps in the low 20s.

It was a bit nippy though, at 3.30, 4.00, and 6.30, when I was woken by a distressed dog having wet herself in her sleep. Good job we have good drying weather - I have to do a complete strip-down wash of the bed, for the second day in a row. Running out of duvets!!

She’s been unsure of her hind legs for quite a few weeks, @Upsydaisy . Although she’s 12 yrs 7mths, she still tries to act like a puppy, but she hasn’t got full feeling in her right hind leg (does the classic “not righting” if you position her right foot so it’s inverted, with the top of the foot on the ground). She has not been able to do wooden stairs for months now, so we carry her up and down each night.

She was treated for a urine infection last week (red and white blood-cells in her urine). She was still not herself, and wet herself Sunday morning, and again this morning. Each time waking up, and trying to lick herself clean. Unfortunately for us, she has taken to sleeping on our bed (long story, but basically was v anxious when I had to stay with my mum for 2 weeks about 30 months ago, when mum first exhibited signs of dementia. Izzy needed reassurance cuddles each night, and has barely slept in her own bed since) - sooo, our washing machine has been working overtime!

We’re off to the vet this afternoon with another sample, so we’ll see what she says. Not my normal vet, who’s on holiday. V small practices here, basically one-man-bands, so she’s not going to do any major investigation today, but at least we can see if the bladder is better.

Poor Iz - she was clean from 12 weeks, so this will be distressing her. We try not to make an issue of it, but will need to find some alternative solution if it carries on. Maybe a rubber-backed picnic blanket on top of our duvet?

                          Edited:
A separate thread has been set up “Poorly Pooch”, so as not to divert the weather news!

@Sian in Belgium I hope that izzy will be ok. Yes having a rubber backed blanket might be ok. Can buy nappies for dogs from Amazon but she might not like them.
                            Good luck at the vets.:grphg:

One of our dogs had bad back legs and paws not righting themselves, but he was a lot older.
