Good morning all sunny intervals and light wind temp 6 to 13c
The coldest so far, I'll soon be needing my hat for the walks.
Precipitation 34% at the moment but less later.

The next few days just light rain but they don't really know because they said so.

Me too! :hapydancsmil: Lots of rain, lubbly jubbly! :heehee:

During the early afternoon on Tuesday we had a monsoon with a thunderstorm overhead and the lightning and thunder almost together. I was at the village hall with our bridge club and the water was runnig down the car park like a river. Next door to the hall is the school and the parents wait in our car park for the kids. They were all standing out there with their umbrellas up and one of our members tried, tactfully, to tell them how dangerous it was holding up lightning conductors. :nonofinger: He told them that if they had any sense they would go into the school entrance hall. Only a few did :noidea:

Yesterday was very sunny with a chilly wind. So it was warm in the sun and cold in the shade.

This morning we have frost on the roofs. No wind at all and the sun will be shining brightly soon.

              Frost @shiney :yikes:!!
Oh dear I've got so much to do in both the gardens (Dad's as well) lots to dig up and over winter in the greenhouses and cold frames. Made a good start here and I'm off for a day at my Dad's in a moment. Staying at my sister's next week again as she recuperates from her 2nd surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get frost just yet.:fingers crossed:

                  Hi,

We had a decent dry day yesterday but with a cold breeze. So far today too is dry with a forecast of sunny intervals and gentle breeze; what's between the intervals though?

Most of this year I've been at war with my personal black cloud Blackie and his sister Gale but got out of bed this morning to be greeted by another of their family; Jack Frost. Did we have a summer this year because if we did I must have been having dinner; we had a few hot dry days so perhaps I'm being unkind. Two big watering cans and a long hose pipe redundant as usual the year round; I live in hope of ever using them.

Whilst the weather is warmer I go mad working in the gardens usually with Blackie's or Gale's company; yesterday I collected my TIG welder after a warranty repair intending to play with it in comfort today before the weather turned cold; well bang on time it's turned cold with the frost so once again now I can get into the workshop; it's doors closed and fan heater on; I've been in the workshop an hour and a half this morning setting the welder up but it's now mug of tea and bickie (cookie) time.

I hope you're right about it warming up from today shiney because I'd like to give the grass a last cut and wander around doing my Santa impression; Hoe; Hoe; Hoe..

Good luck to your sister for a speedy recovery Upsy and good luck to you too allowing you to complete all your jobs before your frost arrives; sounds like you're going to be busy. :dbgrtmb:

It's overcast and gloomy but good in the workshop where I'm heading again.

                  Kind regards, Colin.

                          Hi,

No gardening this morning for me; I headed into the workshop to set up my TIG welder and destroy a bit of aluminium trying it out as I practiced a bit; I'm new to TIG welding but have been arc welding for 55 years; it's just another steep learning curve and like all beginners I need to make every mistake possible but I'll get there. :dbgrtmb::)

                          Kind regards, Colin.

My industrial arc welder and trolley I'm using as a welding bench; the TIG welder is ready for use; the steps double up as my seat with a big folded towel as a cushion; I like comfort.

                          Practice welding_0003.JPG

Experimenting with lots of welder settings; the big hole means a bit too much amperage. :yahoo: It's almost 3:30 so just time to cut the grass before the daylight fades.

Two days without rain, amazing, although suffered a 3C start.
Just put the bins out, some of the wet stuff was starting AGAIN.

Had a cold start this morning I could see frost on a few roofs of North facing houses, but none in the garden thankfully, bubble wrapping the greenhouse becoming a priority I think.
