Not bad, a bit windy, but then that tends to dry things up at this time of the year.
Mostly fairly sunny after 2 mm of rain overnight.

      Hi,

A good mix this afternoon; rain; hail; glimpse of sun and high wind; it's perishingly cold though; no fear of sunstroke but freezing might be an option.

      Kind regards, Colin.

The high wind promised for today came early and was rattling around the house outside last night. My lawns are now covered in Beech nuts. I've had lights on all day as it's been dark and wet. Hibernation is a very good idea. :) 4C/39F

Very strong winds all night and today, plus that wet stuff that comes down, almost dark all day, had to have the lights on all day. Amanda & Chloee called in to see me and said it was freezing outside. I hate to think what it would be like were it not for the trees the other side of the road, and my own trees.

The trees opposite include a beautiful Arbutus, then a very tall stand of Laurus nobilis (Bay), these were hit bad in the Great Storm, great work by the council's tree surgeons saved them. A dense assortment of Ilex also help to buffer the westerly winds across the park. Then the gap between my house/flat and next door becomes much of a wind tunnel. I have a Thuja plicata that is due for a trim, this helps to buffer the wind and cause it to fise up. Then at the top of my tiny garden is my giant of a Leylandi some 80 ft tall.

                        Hi,

Blackie was on form as was his sister Gale during last night battering our bungalow but it's still standing and I'll check the roof is still where it should be if daylight breaks.

Just one supermarket to visit this morning and I was back home by 7:30 so off to a flying start today; at 6C it's cold but warm enough not to have frost or ice so not really a bad day by our Yorkshire standards. :yahoo:

                        Kind regards, Colin.

What Storm?, what winds?, what rain, we've had a really quiet night weatherwise here in West Cheshire:dunno: The only thing amiss is the fact that we have "lost" our mains water supply, but the good news is that there was enough water in the Kettle for a Mug of Tea with breakfast, a Shower and shave will have to wait:hate-shocked::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Another very sunny but windy day but getting quite cold now. We had another brief power cut.

I'm hoping we may just get away with less than 20 power cuts this year. It will be a close call :rolleyespink:

Well Stinky, er I mean @ARMANDII , I hope your water supply is fixed right quick!

We are have a very mild day. Up in the low 40's f and raining. I was hoping the rain would hold off a bit so I could get up on the roof to clear one of the eaves troughs. Leaves seem to have clogged the area near the front door and stop it from running to the downspout so the water just flows over the top and greets guests with a shower. Hmmmn, maybe Stinky should come by my front porch! :roflol:
