The sun is coming through the haze and the air is still cool from the night but it will soon warm up, possibly 28 today.

Well they didn’t get it right here yesterday drizzled for most of the morning. Still an excuse to drive to a local ‘flower farm’ not too far away out near Chepstow . Found it ! CLOSED , still a lovely country Pub close so had some Lunch there. I’d say we are in for a few rain-free days by the looks .

Hot again today, but now forecasting a bit cooler from tomorrow. There's still no realistic prospect of any rain though.

27c and full sun. No sign of any rain for the rest of the month. Having to water mature shrubs now.

            Lots of blackberries.

Even a big ornamental cherry tree is looking dehydrated here @cactus_girl!

Goodness knows what the garden would be like if it wasn’t for the odd small amounts of rain we’ve had this Summer. I wonder if the weather will affect the Autumn colours?

We have approximately 26c currently, and of course sunshine.

I also have to water established shrubs. I gave the Spirea this morning 10l.
God knows when this bloody drought is going to end.

I heard recently an interview with an estate agent and he said that whereas people asked for only south facing gardens up to 10 years ago, now they ask for north facing gardens.
Even a north facing garden will have around 8 hours sunshine in summer.
Far more important is the dappled shade garden (on the north side) imo.

30c with good sunny periods, virtually no wind.
Tomorrow looks a different proposition as the north sea comes back at us.

I'm obviously looking at different forecasts to every one else but I'm seeing more unsettled later next week and cooling down.
But who knows, I think they are changing it every day.
                  But definitely cooler here tomorrow.

More unsettled, maybe. Still fairly warm although not like it's been for the last few days. Rain, not much chance. Cooler night time temperatures will be nice though!

                    The next week (Met Office)

The week after (BBC - Met Office daily forecasts don't go that far ahead)

I remember the drought summers of 1975/76, the year after we had floods and all sorts, this has been hotter, but I think '76 was drier if my memory is to be trusted.

@pete yes it says lower temperatures from Wednesday on, but rain? No rain in the next two weeks. Funny enough, windy.com said yesterday morning (I took a screenshot on my laptop), we would get 60mm of rain over the period of 2 weeks. 6 hours later, it said 10mm, this morning down to 3mm.
                        Bloody hell.

Sorry but I feel like a marathon runner who is permanently told that the finish is close, but I’m running for ages, and still no end in sight.

I looked at the met office forecast a couple of weeks ago and they give the met office, the european and the American models

The only one that predicted that storm that hit the N.W and Scotland was the met office.

I ignore other forecasters, I think they are just a bit wafty:roflol:
The Met office are our main forecaster

But who wants rain, its summer for about two weeks before its all over for another year.

I dont think its been hotter and I think 76 was drier, mainly because the winter before was very dry and it continued until the heavens opened in september.
77 was a miserable summer, and so were many after that, its why its still remembered all these years later.

Sunny with the hint of a breeze. Our high was 36c for a couple of hours. Now 33.6c. They are showing 40c for Sunday.
