Wet but very still, no tree movement at all. 18c max temp and possible thunder later. Think that's unlikely though.

Yesterday the forecasts were for steady rain all morning today. Now it's been downgraded to damp and drizzly . There has been a bit of rain so far, which is better than none.

Everything with big leaves or large flowers is getting pretty much trashed by the weather over the last few days, today is the worst it's been.

That's the lagerstroemias finished for this year, and it's only the start of September, more like November.

              Cornwall.
Just you lot up country wait! It has been pouring, most of the night as well, non stop so far. Dark and gloomy. At least the wind hasn't got up, yet! Chilly, I have started lighting the log burner in the evening and wearing warmer clothes during the day.

Considering that we had a rain warning, just 5l in butts. I had hoped for far more.
Reminds me of the railway station: use the hand rail when on the stairs, use the hand rail when on the stairs, use the hand rail when on the stairs.
I believe it started years with that American old woman who bought a hot coffee in a to go cup, threw it over her legs, went to court, got millions in compensation because there was not mentioned on the cup that content is hot. Since then, we are plagued with warnings.

For me it's not the all out total of rain it's the time it takes to happen, not had a dry day for over a week now, it just looks like rain most of the time and then some drizzle, then a short sharp shower, it just nuisance valve.
If it would just rain and then stop at least you would be able to do something outside.

Don't mention the wind either, oh I just did, pretty rough for this time of the year with trees still in leaf.
Trees down around here this morning on the traffic news.

It is up to 69f 15c and the guessers say it will go up to 77f 25c and start getting cloudy late in the day as rain moves into the area. We can use the free water so that makes me happy. :)

A heavy band of rain with thunder and lightning is passing right over us for a change, instead of slipping past to the north or south :hapfeet:

Just looking out of the window I can see that there's about 10mm in the rain gauge, and I can hear the water pouring into the butts.

Heavy rain early on and now the thundery storms have arrived. I think the lawns have had a good watering, however they look like mud. This is because in the hot dry weather when we walked on the lawns the grass broke off. I suppose they will come back plus lots of moss. It's quite late in the year for recovery. At least I don't have to go out watering!

                          Temps are reasonable at 19c.

We had a bit of thunder today and some more rain. Brightened-up late afternoon. Pond looking much fuller but I don’t actually need full water butts now!
