Well, it's 32f here at the moment [1135pm] and we have clear skies. So the Observatory is up and running with me going to have a late night/early morning before I get to bed. The temperature during the afternoon got up to 47f with dull grey skies and again no breeze and some light rain during the morning, although I have noticed that there is a breeze coming from the West right now. The pressure reading at the moment is 1041mbs, and the forecast for the weekend is not looking good with Storm Barbara due to arrive on Friday and a number of low pressure fronts following it giving us more wind and rain over the Christmas Weekend.:coffee::dunno::snorky:

Yesterday turned out quite mild with a high of 54F and the rain didn't turn up. Clear skies last but didn't drop below 40F. Clear this morning and 43F with a forecast of sun.

Beautiful day here today; cloudless, sunny, gorgeous blue skies ... the calm before the storm, perhaps?

Pretty much the same as yesterday with slightly heavier snow showers. Down another degree to 1C/34F.

We had clear skies all night last night but then around noon the skies became cloudy and we had a shower or two. The cloud disappeared in the late afternoon and will hopefully stay clear for some observing tonight. The temperature never got above 46f and it's 35f now with a pressure reading of 1047mbs.
My Garden Weather Station is on the "Blink" as it keep losing radio contact with the outside transmitter so I've just treated myself to a "all singing, all dancing" Weather Station with all the "Bells and Whistles"............although we all know one weather symbol I will see the most..........Cloud:dunno::gaah:

Perhaps a new weather station will show better weather Armandii. Well you can live in hope!

Yesterday remained sunny but fairly cold. It's 39F now and they forecast rain this evening. That's the sixth time they've forecast rain in the last fortnight but we still haven't had any of it.

Our weather station is playing up as well but I don't think it's a problem with the station. The contact with the outside station is fine (only lose that when the outside battery needs changing) but, for the second year running, we have no contact in December with the radio clock in Rugby. So there's no date and time displayed. :dunno:

We've been using that as our clock in the lounge so Mrs Shiney has put a carriage clock alongside it. That shouldn't be a problem but although the carriage clock is battery run I can hear the second hand move (ultra sensitive hearing ) and I find that very disturbing. I have to have music or TV on when I'm in the room.

Getting rather windy, added some extra reinforcement to the gazebo on the patio and now off to the plot to check polytunnels are closed.

I went out last night, but expecting frost, so went through the winter cover up routine.
Came home around 11.30, and it was very damp everywhere, dont think it had rained, just a temperature rise causing lots of condensation on the ground and even walls.
Roads were salted, so they were running in water.

Not bad to day, a bit windy right now but dry with clouds moving pretty fast.
                            Temp 9C.

A messy day regarding the weather. With the strong wind present for most of the day, hitting it's peak between 3-6pm we've also had squally showers passing over. It sounds very calm out there now, that's of course until the next bout moves in over the weekend. I think we've got off quite lightly here so far. 6C/43F

The morning breeze changed into a strong, gusty, wind that brought rain during the midday. The rain was heavy for an hour and then the day slowly dried out although the temperature never got above 46f. Then at around 5pm the skies cleared and I managed to get a brief look at Venus that was low in the horizon to the SouthWest, but that only lasted about three quarters of an hour before the clouds rolled in from the West.:dunno: Right now the temperature is 39f and the pressure reading is 1038mbs:coffee::snorky:
