I'm thinking of going crazy with pots this year :D Well, at least, I'd like to buy about ten mediumish sized pots (about 24 - 30cm) to line up the whole way down one side of the house for consistency. Near me I have a Neal's nursery, Homebase and B&Q where I know I can get a limited selection of pots. But I wondered if anyone knows of an online or bespoke pot seller somewhere that sells nice pots at a reasonable price?

I'd like the pots to be glazed really so that they maintain their look. And for them all to be the same to create a good feature in their own right.

This one looks quite nice: http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/garden/pots-and-planters/dynasty-pot---28cm-123820

Jack glazed pots can get a bit pricey if you are buying a few. Most of my pots I have bought from discount warehouses . The big shed type pile them high sell them cheap. As they are seasonal , they will only stock them in the spring. Ask around your friends and neighbours for the cheap mega-stores . Don't go to mad with the quantity containers take a bit of watering in high summer ( when they are in bloom , very little rain water gets in ).
28cm is quite small , look around the garden centres with your tape measure and finds the best size for what you have in mind.

          Hi Jack

I have quite a few glazed Malaysian pots although expensive they have stood the test of time and are still going strong some are 20 years old , and survived the minus 5-10 of 2011 2012 not like some of the terracotta pots I had !!!! cracked apart and some of them beacuse of the size and style not that cheap.
I always think if you are limited to garden space fork out as the pots become a feature as well
When onholiday I did like these in the hotel grounds lit up at night I thought looked great just a thought....

others available cheaper but this site gives you a better understanding how they look

http://www.whichfordpottery.com/ This used to be the reference for terracotta pots, although not cheap. I splashed out on a couple 20 years ago and they're the only ones to have survived the horrendous winters here.....
Flower shows like Birmingham NEC and Hampton Court Palace used to be a happy hunting ground as well if you've got the stamina to get them home:)

If you are thinking of buying them online you want to get in early or you won't be able to get the quantity you want, they sell out really quickly.

Just found a great little garden centre which sells a good range of pots. Its called Petals for Plants, and is in Burwash, East Sussex. Its very near Batemans. ( Ruryard Kiplings home ). Make an interesting day out for the family. Bill

Good idea. I've never been to Batemans. Perhaps I can combine with Great Dixter!!

I'm thinking of getting between 6-8 14x14 inch pots to handle big plants like cannas and dahlias.
