I am wanting to plant some shrubs etc that will grow to around 1-2 metres in my garden, preferably evergreen. The problem is i have rabbits which strip the bark off. I have a holly bush already and want to know is there anything i can plant that grows with a single trunk rather than several stems so that i can easily place wire round it to prevent it from being eaten. Any help would be appreciated.

Good evening and welcome to the site. I would say that a single stemmed plant is more at risk from rabbits than shrubby plants. If a rabbit eats the barkfrom all around the main stem then the plant will die. If you use shrubby plants there is a very good chance that they will grow big enough to thwart the animals. I would go for Japanese Azaleas, dwarf Rhododendrons, Quercus Ilex, Daphne odora and Sarcoccocas.:gnthb:

There are lots of different things that the rabbits don't like, but they may be tempted to have a nibble. Is there any chance that the whole garden can be rabbit fenced, and not just around individual shrubs/bushes, as it may make the view of the garden a bit untidy.
