Solved Which Iris is this please?

    I grew this from a seed distribution. I think it was labelled iris ruthenica but it obviously isn't. It's about 1.5m tall, no conspicuous rhizome. Flower approx 8-10 cm across the falls. Very robust, and spreads gently. IrisRuthenicaQuerySm.jpg

      @CarolineL as you grew it from collected seed it could be Miss Saigon with a slight colour variation as in my experience colours do not always come true from seed..

      Hi @Marley Farley it's definitely closer to a species iris than one of the dutch ones like Miss Saigon. (And Miss Saigon has a prettier colour!) It's also very tall - more than twice the height of a dutch iris, though the growth form is similar... I think it was from AGS seed, so it surprised me that it was so far from the name given.
