Solved Which Palm is This Please?

I wasn't aware of a ban but there were restrictions put in place for importing palms and a lot of other trees to stop xylella being introduced to the UK.
If there is a ban you can bet that the remaining stock in the UK will rocket in price.

 

It's just the opposite here! After lagging behind the UK and most of Europe by a couple of centuries with regard to availability of ornamental plants, the supermarkets and sheds are now importing 'exotics' from Spain, Portugal and North Africa by the thousands. Which probably accounts for the spread of nasties. Just when all effective fungicides and insecticides have been withdrawn from sale to individuals. Good timing....not!
