    Morning everyone,

    I've noticed in the last couple of days a white slug on the surface of my lawn. Looking on the 'net and it doesn't appear to be a grub (no legs) or a leatherjacket - def a white slug .... but of course, I could be (and probably am) wrong...

    Couple of pictures of one I plucked up to do a spot of modelling this morning

    Doesn't *look* like they are doing any damage to the lawn - though my lawn gets a tough time of it anyway.

    Any idea's ?

    Thanks,

      @Tim Shields

      Drowning in beer. I've been trying it on myself for years but to no avail :).

      However, those white slugs are a particular menace as they have a severe fondness for plant foliage.

      If you ever stumble across a Leopard slug or two, take them home as they feed on other slugs and rotten material but rarely plant foliage. You can't mistake them as they are horrendosuly huge. There was one is my Dad's garden a couple of years ago and it must have been at least 9 inches long.... couldn't believe a slug could grow that big and he rarely suffers from plants destroyed by slugs (maybe because the leopard slugs are doing s good jon) and it's usually catapillars or aphids that take their toll on his plants instead.
