Last year I got a brand new granddaughter on Christmas Day, so it will be double celebrations this year.

I liked Christmas while the boys were growing up - the last few years I have almost dreaded it but try to make an effort and we still put a real tree up.
This year my son also my other son, his partner and little man have invited themselves here for the day so I will enjoy that.

Love little mans nativity, all his excitement and school activities but do not like the songs jingling in the shops from November, the "money" side of Christmas and the feeling that it is all about spending :(

I've been down to my rocky landscape today and thought you might like to see these pics. Not brilliant shots, but you must bare in mind I was trying to take these in a force 7 gale, with sea spray added.

These are taken around and looking out to the Calf of Man, an island that is a bird sanctuary, with just a warden living there. :)

In Wilkos today I thought 'less than 4 weeks from now nearly all of this tat will have gone, the gardening stuff will be back and the kids will be back at school'.

christmas day will be the same as last year and the previous years

will BBQ a duck on the weber with charcoal .... wife will prepare the rest of the food on the stove ...

old neighbours will give me dirty/strange looks and 'smirk'.... i will have loads of beers, some good whisky, some port and perhaps some wine ....and my ipod will be playing my fav music and I will be mellow

my elderly neighbour will phone the environmental police and report me for smoke pollution again (yet even today, her chimney is bellowing thick black smoke from her fireplace)

another day in the 'village' i suppose (all my neighbours are about 100 years old) ....

a few houses away, we have some travellers who have moved in, so will be interesting to see how they celebrate .... their christmas lights have been set up since october, so will be intersting to watch, as they come across as 'party people'
