That comfrey is so much further ahead than here. I grow it for using as a plant food.
Lovely to have those orchids @strongylodon . I have one in the garden [spotted] which must have come in with a plant. I managed to relocate it to a better site and always look forward to it flowering.
Our hills are covered in them in about another month or two - they look superb when you see a huge area of them.

@strongylodon those orchids look good. Our wild orchids in the garden don't usually flower until June/July. We have mainly bee orchids and pyramidal orchids.

They're only just showing small leaves and I usually spend a lot of time before the first lawn cut of the season searching through for them and marking the spots. :phew:

@shiney I don't expect to see Bees until late May to June and Pyramidals late June/July.

Thanks @On the Levels they are the three early ones. There are only about 18 native orchids in Dorset and half of those are very rare here, I wish there were more.

The wild bluebells are out in force in the hedgerows here now having started sporadically a couple of weeks ago and the wild white asphodels are opening up their spires too. Lovely.

I took some seed from this big patch of white Honesty a couple of years ago, but have only succeeded in growing a couple of small plants so far. So I was pleased to find it in such good shape when out walking yesterday - I don't think I saw any there last year. I will make sure to collect more seed later on. I also found the purple variety nearby.
