They're a lovely colour but we never see them around here. I've only seen the seeds to buy. Maybe I'll try them one year.

We often see them on motorway verges. Lovely blue colour. You can eat the leaves (not the ones from the sides of motorways!) when they are young for salads.

I've seen chicory but only where its been sown amongst wild flower mixes.
Its not something I see growing wild as such.

I've seen wild ones just once, when we were on holiday in Dorset, they were growing on a dry grassy verge near Lulworth cove. You never see them around here. Maybe the ground there is chalky and it suits them.

I saw them thriving on sandy soil in Pembrey yesterday, down near the sea. The plants were huge, with a few of the pretty blue flowers at the top.

Riding about on my Lawn Mower my eyes caught a little blue flower in the middie of the lawn. almost cut it down. But investigate it to find a clump of a plant, so I saved it in a pot. Sweet thing. Called Blue Eyed Grass. Blue Eyed Grass.jpg

Maybe they're two plants - the leaves of one and flowers of another, whose leaves are hidden under the first plant
                .
