WILDFLOWERS YOU HAVE SEEN WHILE OUT WALKING

Thistles in the wilderness. A bit blurred as it was very windy up there.




Highland heather coming into full bloom now.

 

Marsh Gentian, an uncommon plant only found in a few counties. Not out fully yet but it was difficult to find being so small amongst the Heather.

 

More of a fruiting body than a flower, nice to look at, but not for eating.

 

Sea Daffodil, Pancratium maritimum, Mallorca.

 

That's pretty Strongy. Are they flower buds or seed pods attached?

 

@Sheal seed pods, they seem to thrive on dry sand dunes and rough ground.

 

I saw this Umbellifer in a graveyard recently. I don't know which species it is.





And also this Orange Hawkweed, Pilosella aurantica, which was a weed in my garden until it recently disappeared

 

I saw these beauties a few months ago - any idea what type of wildflower they are?

 

They look like Leucanthemum (Ox Eye Daisy) or a relative.

 

First native Orchids this year, Early Spider Orchid, very small but striking pattern, Logo of Dorset Wild Life Trust.
