I didn't manage to get in store until today and picked up quite a few packets of F1 seed.

Blew another £1.20 instore today, mainly on Wilko seeds @ 10p/packet, and a couple of expensive Johnsons F1s @ 30p each.

The Wilko multipacks of 6 pkts, previously £3, now 10p are amazing value, 1.5p per packet is bordering on being free (my favourite price).

Taking into account the multipacks, they worked out at 5p/pkt overall.

Bought some 600mm high rolls of 10m long 'chicken' mesh for £1/roll yesterday, laced together 2 rolls high with cheap wire, that's rabbit fencing for about 21p/metre + posts, for which old gazebo poles can usually be obtained FOC around this time of year when the first autumn storms destroy them.

For campers/sleepovers they have single and double airbeds for only £2 each.

Nets of seed spuds, onion sets, etc. now buy 2 get 1 free.

For example, that's 3x2Kgx£2.50 bags of spuds for £5, only 83p/Kg

Are they long shallots, because I've found they need to be grown from seed and plantings of supermarket ones fail to divide.

I dont think they are. I think your right about not splitting. Also read they just bolt ? I kept some of mine over from last year, planted again and seem to be heathy.
Not so sure about these dutch ones? Might just stick a half dozen in a pot and see what happens. :blue thumb:
