I've seen a couple of these for sale on the internet, just wondering if anyone grows one.
They say on the Internet that they are hardy.
    There from Australia

Never grown one, but I do believe they are fairly hardy.
Might need a bit of help in exceptional winters perhaps.

The ones here are now old enough to set seed (they must cone-up at a very young age - how the heck did they get to be on the edge of extinction? Actually I think I know the answer to that, it might have been that their seed-dispersal mechanism is pants, and they were growing in a ravine and had no way to get their seed up-and-out of the canyon ... I hope I haven't just made that up!)

Anyways, home germinated ones should be available real-soon-now - and I will give you good odds that they will have NO certificate :heehee:

I have seen them at a garden centre at a reasonable price.

They get big though, and will take up a fair amount of space.
    For me, not worth having.

On that point I've started taking the view "How soon?" on the basis that if it is, say, 20-30 years then I might as well have the enjoyment and then fell them when they get too big.

The ones I have seen have not branched (and were probably 15' tall) - not to say that they wouldn't, at a low height, but if they don't that may be a good attribute for a garden tree

Just ordered one from Blackmoor Nurseries £25+p+p+ vat £38 in total, will post picture when arrives.
Been reading up on them, you can grow in a pot or in the ground, you can trim to size.

Aren't these the ones that were thought to be extinct in Australia until someone stumbled upon a small colony of them growing in a remote part of Australia(can't remember the year)and the plants were propagated by micro culture I think it was and you could buy a seedling back then for £100 but we thought it better not to waste our money on one especially if it died on us due to us not being able to give it the conditions they are used to.

Good Luck with yours especially as that is a good price for that size of plant:spinning:

I've done a lot of research about them before I bought one.
It came with full growing instructions and a certificate of authenticity.
We're going to grow it in a large terracotta pot.
