I have built a planter 6x2x2 to sit on my slab patio, question is do i remove the slabs at the bottom of the planter or does it not matter?

Maybe move them so they dont get stained causing a problem if you decide to remove the planter in the future ? Or cover them in a fabric instead.

I'd take them up to help drainage. :)

    It is down to preference.
Is your planter on "feet"? So, will there be a gap between the slabs/soil and the base of your planter?

    1) Are you planning to line the planter with plastic sheeting to help retain moisture?
    2) Will it have some sort of bottom in or will it run off directly onto the paving?
    3) Do you want the plants' roots to have access to the soil so they can grow downwards?
    4) When are you coming to make one for my garden? :snork:

There are no feet it will be directly on the slabs, I have bought a weed membrane to line the sides as nd bottom with. The bottom will be the slabs and the roots can't access the soil due to the amount of hardcore under the slabs.

And I would make you one anytime as long as you supply unlimited tea!

Will you make me one next week if I throw in some homemade cake and biscuits?
