Why does this Albert Einstein quote remind me of voting in UK elections?

That's quite worrying in its own right: first they "trusted" him to follow his Tory bent ... then he flipped that and became a 'Kip and now they trust he is still a man of his "word"?  :noidea:

I suspect it might be to do with trusting his membership of a political party at the last election, then, when that party failed to deliver on it's promises, tried his utmost to respect those promises.

I believe the worst example of broken promises is that of the Lib Dems, sorry aint good enough

Sadly I fear that it is simply demonstrating what politics has become - politicians and their parties are so disconnected from the realities of the world that voters feel that they are going to go unheard and get shafted no matter who is in power.

There are still those who feel it important to exercise their democratic right to vote, but being faced with a dilemma akin to being asked their preference of having their eyes gouged out with a fork or a spoon, they simply vote for the person they like the most

Or perhaps who they think is likely to further damage the country at a slower rate than the others.

Good morning this is just my personal opinion is that the people of Rochester /Strood (50.6%) of them are a bit sharper and more aware than that ;),it was purely the people saying they are disillusioned with all party politics ,it was just a shot across the bows before the General election, they don't particularly like Mark Reckless in fact quite the opposite,I will put my head on the block and say it will be a different story next May when common sense will once again prevail, wait and see:smile:

It's interesting to see that the party that, supposedly, is going to deal with the 'immigration problem' was voted in by a local electorate that is 94.7% white Anglo-Saxon! (Official demographic figures.) So it appears that they don't actually have a problem. :noidea:

I have got to say that when I saw the three main candidates, in this election on the TV, both the labour and conservative came over as pretty lousy.
The conservative one in particular sounded like she lived in the house that the labour lot were targeting in their online gaff.

I know we dont want the Westminster Elite bunch, but I think these are a step too far in the other direction.

                              Just a little trivia;)

A Tory candidate selected by the party to stand in the Rochester and Strood by-election is an hardcore anti-Israel activist.

Kelly Tolhurst, who won an open primary to fight in the by-election next month, has urged supporters on her Twitter account to boycott Israeli businesses, placing her at odds with her party, which has refused to support boycotts.
