Pete, there aren't many specimen plant s to overwinter. Nearly all of it is grown annually, we keep Centaurea Gymnocarpa each year for cuttings as it is not available in any shape or form.

Most dot plants ie Kochia, Eucalyptus, Amaranthus and Millet are grown from seed each year.

Ricinus has been banned by the Parks Mannger. I was told on 'safety' grounds (they have had it here for 50 years or so!!!) just after the seed arrived.

The large glasshouse is not fully heated in winter anyway, we tent one quarter of it in bubblewrap
and heat that part where we keep carpet bedding stock and decoratives eg Kentias ferns etc.

After the bedding has gone there is a 'little' space for chilles, peppers tomatoes and the odd cucumber.:D
