Works on my car but only found out in 2009 when the car was a year old. I have to hold down the 'open' button for at least 6 seconds and sometimes 10 seconds.

At which point you need to buy a new battery;) at the local agent who charges a phenomenal rate for a bog standard battery:snorky:.

Held the open button down for 30secs and nothing.

Mine too, got an Ass-tra. Told the other half about it, doesn't work on his Focus estate either.. doubt it would work on his transit.

I got mine done at Timpsons and it was free :)

It shouldn't have been free, it should have been £10 - but the person serving me hadn't seen the sticker my side of the till stating that T's always give receipts. If they fail to give a receipt, you get your goods for free. I wasn't offered a receipt and left happy :lunapic 130165696578242 5: He'd worked there 2 years, never even knew it was company policy and left ... Unhappy :heehee:

Bought a new battery for the key fob the other month (first new one in 9 years). It cost £1.70 in Maplins and my local garage changed it for me free of charge. :dbgrtmb:

Are they the big round ones? About the size of a £2 coin.
