I am not a sweet tooth person or a cake/pastry eater, but I have to say. Comparing shop bought to home made. I prefer the home made. Keep up the good work Logan.

Raining most of the day. At least the shrubs and roses will enjoy it.
This evening, I watched Gardeners World on TV. Something I seldom do. Sorry but I just can't stand these gardeners flitting/prancing about like pantomime fairies, reminds me of sir Ken Dodd and his tickling stick.
I do enjoy Monty Don's DVD's on gardens around the world etc. He is very interesting. Back to this evenings program. I really did enjoy the visits made to various back gardens. Here we learned from the growers, the if's and but's of their love for their plants. I asmired the elderly gent with his sweet peas and his perseverance dispite his disabilities. The chap who has spent his lifetime growing Lithops etc. Also the lady who has some form of mental illness. WOW! what a great garden. She, like so many of us. Has discovered the vast therapeutic benefits of gardening.

I have a hospital appointment for Tues. 1.Sept for a CT scan. Ifound the letter. Also I found the letter from the consultant to my GP. I had been somewhat pleased with my self, as undertanding that my cancer was contained etc. I was first diagnosed in 2014. I have undergone six/seven ops. The latest, the consultant assured me, all was looking good. Now reading the report sent to my GP. It appears the cancer is more serious. Now I am becoming more concerned. Since the last op. No pain or discomfort. no bleeding etc... Then my age. I'm 80 and for my age I don't think I'm doing too bad. Then the cardiologist. My Aortic valve is showing massive corrosion. True a kind of stent can be used, but. I am 80. Yes life is sweet, despite all the ups and downs. Yes I am considering the next move.

I've spent since 3 a.m. rearranging things for Mrs Shiney's class today. After postponement since April, she's teaching the final day of Reiki Masters for their full qualification. To make it much easier, and more comfortable, I had set up a large Gazebo in the garden for the class - and written the full Covid19 Risk Assessment for it.

As the weather has now made that not an option I have rearranged the summerhouse to comply with the regulations, completely rewritten the Risk Assessment and sent a copy to the professional insurers. :wallbanging:

Sanitiser, wipes, special bin all in place and temperature gun at the ready :blue thumb:

All work has been inspected closely and approved by Sarafi the cat. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

It must be going well, even if it's worse than you thought and that you feel better. They'll probably control it with drugs.
Hope that the scan goes well on Tuesday. :)

Things worked out well yesterday and the Covid19 precautions were approved by the students who, in their jobs, happen to be in charge of Covid19 precautions :rolleyespink: Sarafi the cat (supposedly living four doors away) spent all eight hours sleeping and being a cushion for Mrs Shiney's back on her chair. We don't normally allow him indoors but according to Covid guidelines the door and windows had to be open, so he took that as an invitation to be in. :heehee:

After trying to find a very large shallow planter in vain (apart from the one that cost over £600 :yikes:) I decided to make my own. It's too big to be made from air dry clay so... a bit of chicken wire, the rag bag and glue. I might cover the fabric layer with a thin layer of the clay so that I can sand it before copious amounts of sealant, paint and varnish. What could possibly go wrong?

                      The first round:

I purchased some new safety goggles from Screwfix yesterday (for use with my new circular saw and for bashing paving slabs with a sledge hammer) and some safety glasses for when I'm leaping around with my garden strimmer (down the allotment really as I am bound to whip up a stone or similar when I'm down there).

This picture prompted me to update my ppe:

Phase 2. The mesh has been shaped and coated with glue soaked rags, and after a week of drying the air dry clay went on it. The Teenager was slightly less supportive to what I had hoped for.

"Pet, can you take some photos of the new planter please?"
"Whooa Mum, that's a great looking Easter Egg you have made!"
"It's NOT an Easter Egg, but a crafty planter to showcase the rare and exquisite cacti and succulents I have lovingly grown from seed (or bought from Aldi). "
"Will you also make the other half and fill the egg with small presents for me for Easter?"
"It is a PLANTER, with rough shabby chick style intendations to showcase the hand made origin. "
"...Or you could sew a fluffy giant chick to hatch from the egg... "
"Pass me the folder with spare "Last Will and Testament" forms will you?"
Homeless cats of North Tyneside, rejoice! :heehee:

Been a while since I’ve visited here, the move to Cornwall has been hard work with the first property we looked at having an issue which was a huge blow so we walked away.
Off on Friday to look at another new build, touch wood this ones good to go. 2 months from completion so if it’s right after all the back ground stuff and we like it’s position then the clocks ticking.
Sold some of my gardening gear and customers are thin on the ground now.
