Yesterday talking to son on the phone and he's been invited to a conference up in Manchester in a couple of weeks. It's one of those gaming conferences. It's been the second time that he's traveled since the pandemic apart from seeing us and he's pleased to get back to normal in a way.

Hope to manage a walk this afternoon if my leg is in a cooperative mood, since being twisted and turned during my recent Hosp appointment it has decided to complain a bit.

I have a friend coming over this morning for a coffee and catch up, so looking forward to seeing her.:)

Heard from our baby AWOL son yesterday and he's now 3 days into what is turning out to be a very wet trek and should reach Machu Picchu tomorrow. He then flies to New York for a long weekend with friends before flying............HOME!!!!:hapydancsmil:

We won't actually be seeing him ' in person 'for a few weeks yet but will definitely video call him. So our hugs are on hold!!!:grphg:

Thanks @Logan , my surgery won't be for another 4-8 weeks yet, then there's recovery time. Hopefully by summer it will be a bit more comfortable and won't swell up with the heat like it did last year.:fingers crossed:

        Hmmmmmmm heat, lovely heat.:SUNsmile::biggrin:

@Upsydaisy I am glad to hear that there is a solution to your leg problem. Took them bloody long enough to figure it out! Our health care system must work on the same time lines as yours

I have a lot of snow to clear from the solar panels and a little shoveling to make pathways to the greenhouses. But that will have to wait until I've finished being Hilda Ogden under the dryer. If I don't use the dryer, it takes about 5 hours for it to air dry and I don't want to be shoveling while my hair is wet.

I'm so happy to see the sun again. If I can get the panels cleared in time, the batteries will get a nice boost!

Anyone looking for a good action movie - like the John Wick series - I can recommend the movie 'Nobody'. It's quite short at 90 minutes but by 'eck it's full of action. I think it's on Prime at the moment. The main character is played by the bloke who plays the lawyer in 'Breaking Bad' and 'Better call Saul'.

Thanks Lori, in all fairness to our struggling NHS, some of the delay was my fault, some due to my medical history and some due to Covid.

Although it all started around March '20' because of losing my Dad and wrapping up affairs I didn't actually seek medical help until Nov '20' then we had another lockdown. Due to the fact that I had previously had cancer, blood clot , Bakers Cyst and Bursitis in that leg all had to be ruled out before progressing further. As you can imagine with a overstretched NHS this added to their workload.
Gradually all tests were carried out and thankfully all said potential causes were eliminated. More targeted tests could then be carried out and a severe tear was found along with some bone spurs to be the culprit.
I saw the surgeon within 8weeks ( last week) and he said surgery would be done in the next month or two....well....:hapydancsmil:.... I've just had a phone call and I'm booked to have it done ....2 weeks today!!!!!

Can't believe it and certainly can't fault the NHS. It can take 3- 6 mths to get back to normal ....but that's just fine, my garden will just have to fend for itself and may have to cut back on my planned seed sowing and summer border displays this year.:dbgrtmb:

Bring on the Year Of The Weeds!!!:heehee:

Not too sure until they get into it, the Meniscus is severely torn ( I was actually shown the images from the MRI scan, quite a hole:yikes:) and I have bone spurs.

Bones will probably get tidied up ( filing them away).

Bone spurs in the knee - Everything you need to know and more -

I have bone spurs on my neck and upper spine too but have chosen to leave them be......for now.

The Meniscus will be partially or completely removed....won't really know until they see the full extent of the tear and the damage caused by hobbling around and carrying on with things for almost 2 years.

They can do whatever is required to give me back my mobility and to allow me to be relatively pain free. I can't wait.. hubs probably can't either...I'm not good at being incapacitated or in pain ,I'm definitely not a good patient and sadly can and do get very grumpy at having to slow down and rest up!;)
