Did the shopping this morning, had to go "everywhere" to get everything on "the list."
First call Waitrose. I like going there, firstly as they do these £8 off £40 spend or more, if you've a Waitrose card and secondly, their car park spaces are wider than their competitors.

This morning took berry to have his booster jabs, he was fine but because it's a different practice that we started going to it was difficult getting him through the practice door, but he was fine after. They're always weighed when there and he's put on a couple of kgs, have to be more careful with the treats.

My friend Keith prints them out and buys all the craft stuff and I cut everything out and put them together. Don't know if the glitter shows up.

I play a lot of golf. I'm just an average club player about middle of the "pecking order." Which I don't consider bad as I only started playing at the age of 60. I've never won any of the major club competions, though I have come first in the qualifiers a few times, but none recently as although I can hit it straight, at 79, I can't hit the ball as far as I could ten years ago. But I enjoy playing and the company.

Each year we have the main summer competition, for which there are several "qualifiers." To make the final and many do, you need to play in one of these qualifying rounds and play to your handicap or better. Not easy to do as in these competitions, you aren't playing off the "tees of the day," (yellows), which we do mostly, you're playing off the competition tees (whites) which are generally much further back so it makes it much harder, although you get a few chances as you can enter every qualifying round.

Anyway, I played in one round two weeks ago and came in with a net 66. I thought I stood a good chance of coming top, you get a prize of forty or fifty quid, depending on how many pay to enter.
I was looking forward to the results e-mail. When it came, I couldn't find my name until I looked at the bottom of the list and it said I'd been DQ'd for not signing my card. (them's the rules, for which I've no argument). They also reduced my handicap by two shots!
So I thought my chance of "minor glory" had gone.

It was another qualifier yesterday and I came in with a net 68. That meant I had the same gross score as two weeks ago! The e-mail came this morning. I'd come top by three shots.

"What are the chances of that happening?"

Lovely day out at N T Uppark House, been there before as it's one of our 'local' ones.
So lovely and peaceful nestled within the South Downs.

                    I like the photos.

That photo of the lake reminds me of the Thames.

Our daughter, her partner and the grandkids are members of a Thames rowing club.

When we go down to visit, I quite enjoy going out on the river with them.

This is from about eight years ago. I haven't taken any more recent photos.

As well as conventional racing boats, they have these vintage skiffs, they race these too.

They also have these dingies for the kids. Our grandson in this one.

He got a bit tired so we gave him a tow.

Our eldest granddaughter has quite a few cups for rowing.

Here with her dad. I'm steering. Though I can and did row!

I finished my tiger drawing, that has been on hold for a few weeks. It feels good to get it done, and I’ve got a commission to do next....

I’ve taken Izzy to the vets for her annual jabs. She was good, and the vet was pleased with how she looks for an oldie...

Watered a friend’s garden for her whilst she’s away - lots of house plants, pot plants, and veg beds!! Izzy enjoyed mosey-ing around whilst I grappled with the hosepipes. I picked another 1/2 lb raspberries, whilst I was there. Then we called into the farm to get some raw milk.....

Got home, and made some bread using the last of the old milk, decanted the new milk into glass bottles, got a litre of yoghurt on the go, and waited for mum to call me when she got back from the day centre. (She’s got into the habit of telling me she’s back safe).

Once I’d had the call from her, I got a batch of raspberry jam on the go. She only went and called me again, just as I was pouring molten jam into jam jars!! Fortunately I didn’t get confused between the jam spoon and the phone...!

                      .... I think it’s time for a cuppa!!
