    Hi Marley

I am looking forward to meeting Ziggy.

I do have Harleys. An FXR Superglide, a Sportster Sport and a Heritage Softail. My new baby is an Ultima El Bruto chop. I also have several japanese bikes. I would not buy anything from Riders.

    Chopper.

:thumb: I bet you two will hit it off fine..!!! :D

:DAs for your bikes I thought they had to be Harleys... We had a sporster about 18yrs ago.. We imported it from CA when we left there.. A great bike & had loads of fun on it.. We wre more into the old British bikes for many years.. OH used to roadrace & grasstrack, but injury stopped that.. Now we have no bikes & do think about getting one, but I don't know.. The roads are so much more hectic now... Doesn't seem quite the pleasure it did.....
Anyway a beautiful day for riding today so enjoy..!!!! :yho:

As for Riders... No I agree not worth the time of day think too much of themselves there, not very good service either from memory....

Got back to find Choppers card at my gaff, will pop round during the week mate :)

While on the subject of building regs, I must say how good the chap that took over from the first bloke is. He knows the trade & how things work & lets you get on with things & he spends more time talking about fishing, than picking holes in things.

I'm pretty sure if he'd been on the job from the begining, i wouldn't of had to underpin the place.

The first bloke was telling me to do things that no builder in their right mind would do.
When I complained to my building surveyor, he told me that the bloke was a double glazing salesman up until a few years ago. That made sense.

The Sportster is a very underestimated bike. It has won more first place race trophys than any other bike in the world.

My Sporty is the Sportster Sport version. Twin plug heads, dual disc front brake, better carb, uprated suspension and left the factory in a much higher state of tune. The people that slate them ate usually those that are either total t***s that have heard things about them or know someone that has an opinion based on ignorance or they slating comes from someone that is just jealous they do not have a Harley. Well tough luck on them because I have three Harleys, every one bought with cash money that I earned. I also ride them hard.

My FXR Superglide is regarded as the best handling model of all of the Harley family. I was out riding last year and was powering round a motorway roundabout, so low I ripped the forward exhaust clean out of the cylinder head. This is on a bike with apehangers and forward controls. Made some new pipes that gave me a bit more ground clearance and tore them out as well. My Heritage Softail has had three new sets of floorboards as I keep grinding them off and bending the pedals. I do not keep these bikes just to look at them and pose on sunny days. I ride them and ride them hard in all weathers. (Then I have to F***ing clean them)!!!

I have had a few British bikes. Had a BSA A10 Gold Flash and piled it into the side of a Jaguar. Total write off. Bought the bike off the insurance company and rebuilt it as a custom bike. Won a few shows with it before selling it on. It was a lovely bike, it is still running and looking good. Had a few Triumphs, a Norton Commando and an A65. Trouble is, when we go out on a ride out, we stop for nothing and nobody. We often do a couple of hundred miles in an evening. Cruising at 85-90mph is too much for the older bikes. The older bikes cannot stop like the modern stuff and the handling can be a tad unpredictable. The Harleys on the other hand can cope with the punishment we give them. Don't ever let someone tell you that Harleys are slow and do not handle. The rider might be, but not the Harley.

    Chopper.

    Hi Ziggy

You have my number just give me a bell to make sure I am home. If I do not answer, please don't leave a message as I never use the answer phone thingy. (God I hate mobile phones). Look forward to meeting you.

I had a look at what you are growing, saw your plants for sale. Like what you are doing mate.

    Regards

    Chopper.

:gnthb: Yea fantastic you two met... Keep the connection.. :D

Chopper you have a nice selecion of bikes there mate.. Our Harley days were in CA pre helmet laws.. Wonderful days.. Pre- 1991.. :yho:
My OH was the BSA person.. Favourite of all was the BSA Road Rocket.. It was a beauty I do have to say.. To me there is no more a pleasant sound than the engine burbling through Goldie Silencers when shut down as you go down a long hill....!! :D

Speed is not the thing with the old bikes so much, but the pleasure I think... Yes the cleaning is a nightmare, especially if spokes..!!! :lollol:

I was a Royal Enfield gal myself.. Restored myself a 250 Crusader Sports.. 350 Bullet & a 500 Meteor Minor.. Loved all three.. Also had a 25o Mot Guzzi Lodola as well & used to buy & sell pares with the great Stanley Woods... Loved my biking days.. My daughter was pillion from age 6.. Great days great days...! :yho:
Do I miss them.? Yes... Do I miss being out on todays roads.. No..

Enjoy Chopper enjoy mate... Enjoy... :gnthb: :yho:
