:snork: Not so much the water we're worried about as the wind.

Big blue flashes going off outside, the power lines are arcing onto the tree opposite.

Take care. Its quite exciting when things like this happen (I was in the Sheffield flood a few years ago) but you mustn't lose sight of the fact that there is actual danger.

We're a bit worried ourselves, both moved into the dining room together with the cat. Gusts of wind are smashing the trees about & shaking the house.

Whatever was making the power lines spark has stopped, there were some huge flashes & crackles, looked like fireworks going off. A tree has been blown over in the middle of the village.

Only putting a small log on the fire at a time, if the power goes we cant pump the water round to the radiators. Not cold in here though, so not worried about that.

Have got the BBC 6 o'clock News on and once they stop jawing about the EU budget Summit we can get on with the weather.

wind has all gone now, rain still coming though. Don't expect there will be a way out of the village tomorrow. Never seen it this bad before.

Env. agency has issued flood alert for the river here, bit late really, its already burst its banks.

Also advised people in Langport to move anything they want to keep to upstairs rooms. Willow's friend lives next to the river there.

                  Basically, Somerset is underwater.

It's good to know you're dry and safe, Ziggy.:snork: You could use the GC Submarine to get about Somerset as it's just been refitted out:snork:

Did we get a half decent warning from the Met Office about today's weather? Or has it taken them by suprise? I can't recollect much info. about it yesterday evening?
