Scrunge said that earlier, those are my neighbours:yikes: I drove down the street where they were boating last week, it was the only way back to my village.

Now our water has drained down to them.

Easily done, too much going on:biggrin:

Water levels dropping in some parts, but going up in others as the floods move down toward the sea.

Not going to be good tomorrow with the spring tides.

        Blimey, thats a bit rough.

No damage that i've seen, been steady floods rather than flash floods. Apart from a bit of debris you wouldn't know the bottom road had been 3 foot deep last week.

Perhaps the driver in question had just driven down from my end. If he had, then by the time he got a few miles from my patch he'd have been quite convinced that flood warnings and road closures are an overreaction.

One of the two main roads into Redcar has been closed for several days now, because there is a puddle that covers an entire junction. Granted the puddle is unusually large, and when I last drove through it it must have been a whopping 6 inches deep at its deepest point, but it was just a puddle.

Worse, part of my street was closed for a while, because there was a puddle that went right across the road. That one must have been a whole inch deep.

There is a junction not far from me that has been closed for a few days because of a puddle. The puddle has now completely gone, and even when it was there it was passable with care, yet the junction is still closed.

There's no wonder people get themselves caught out when they encounter a real flood, when councils go round telling people that mere puddles are floods.

True, but we don't often get propper road closed signs down here, usually just the triangle with flood on it, as we are used to them living in a land with spot heights of 2 metres on average.
