I have noticed that where my cat has used the soil, there is a fluffy substance growing on it. Do you know what this is and is it poisonous? At the moment my cat is using the same area that I grow my produce on last year and I am not sure if I need to clear out the soil completely or just remove the faeces and try to keep him away from it.

I would clean the faeces away, and keep it clear for a while before planting produce in that place. The fluffy substance is probably a bacteria of some kind.

    Nathan.
