Pricing up some bark chippings for the allotment paths.

    Homebase:

    100 litres of J A Bowers chippings = £8.95
    50 litres of J A Bowers chippings = £3.50

Who on earth works out the prices for Homebase?

Does that include shipping? Or maybe they pay the big bag handler a higher hourly wage than the little bag handler :heehee:

Our Homebase is closing on 21st June - just been there to pick up some more bark for the allotment - it was absolutely HEAVING. One out - one in car parking. I have never seen it like this before.

Mind you everything is 10% off.

Driving back home - a lady walking on the pavement waved at me. I've no idea who she is - but thought it polite to wave back/save embarrassment. Someone she knows must have the same car. We've all done it.

From my experience Mike - most of the DIY stores charge an arm and a leg for delivery. I remember we wanted a new wardrobe from Homebase - delivery was some 25% of the cost of the wardrobe - it stayed in the store room.

It's a shame that Homebase are shutting down stores - as we prefer them to B&Q - I blame the ozzies.

                    Hi,

I've absolutely no problem with Homebase; it's been "The Range" for quite a while. When it was Homebase we very seldom visited because it was too near Huddersfield Town which we avoid like the plague; we don't even visit now it's The Range; we'd rather visit The Range in Birstall or Barnsley. Huddersfield council are doing their best at excluding cars and they are succeeding.

We live in the posh area of Huddersfield where we can still drive at less than 30 mph without losing our wheels. Think I'm kidding here's what I've just lifted from the worst top 10 places to live; Huddersfield has improved a bit it's now #3 when it used to be #1.

I still can't understand why Homebase closed in Huddersfield.

                    Kind regards, Colin.
