I experienced similar help. Just before shut down. I'd just returned home fro having surgery. At the local Homebase I purchased four x 120Ltr bales of JAB MPC. Having paid, I asked for help. Yes Luv says this lady assistant. She grabbed the bales as if fluffing up pillows. That's it Luv. Take care.

Hi All, feels like I am in the right place to post this question, if not please feel free to move it.

I need to purchase some general use compost, my missus needs to repot some plants that sit on pots on our balcony and we are trying our hand at planting anythign with seeds in it from our shopping just as an experiemtn (Tomatoes, Peppers etc)

Last time I bought Westland 50L Multi-Purpose Compost which I found very bity and wondered if there was a better quality one that someone could recommend, only stipulation is that I need to be able to order online and not break the bank as a lot of online places seem to be charging a lot at the moment.

@steevjp , I also bought Westland this year and was not too happy with it. My preferred compost over the last 2 years is Jacks Magic, I think quite a few others on here use it as well. It should be available in most GC's and possible Wickes and B & Q.

I've been buying Verve at B&Q since I haven't been able to get the other compost I like. It has been quite acceptable and no complaints - at a very reasonable price. 125 litres for £8.49 or 50 litres for £4.60

Well that is super cheap. I went onto B&Q and found it, added to basket, but they do not deliver.. Saldy i dont have the option to go get it so I need something to be delivered. (unless i just need to spend X amount with them)

Do you have any friends that might be able to get it for you? When I buy mine the staff load my car for me as I'm not able to lift it, so even someone who is unable to personhandle it :heehee: would be able to get it.

not tried it and never heard of it :noidea:

I tried to find a stockist near here where I could find out the price but none of them listed on the manufacturer's website had a website that I couldfind the products I could buy.

There was something very similar (same make) on Amazon but the price was horrendous.

Wyevale amongst others seem to stock it round here.
Never tried it myself but it appears to be Irish peat.

B&Q now stock Bord Mona compost which is nearly ALL peat and try to justify it on their labels. The store in Poole had stacks of it, more than their verve 'compost'.
I thought they were going almost peat free but obviously not now.
I would imagine it would be good but I won't buy it.
