    Hello,

I am new to gardening and to this forum. So, please be patient if this is a silly or naive question...

I moved into a new house in December -- first time I have lived in a house with a garden rather than a city-centre apartment! I am enjoying seeing what is popping up in the garden now that spring is here.

Question: What are the green stems that dominate the picture, behind the muscari? Am I right that these are blind daffodils that are no longer flowering?

What is the best thing to do here -- should I try to divide them? They look much too densely packed to my eye.

Im not certain they are but if the are indeed daffs their blindness may be because they are overcrowded or lacking sunshine.

I had blind daffs in pots. Emptied the pots, divided them, next year plenty flowers .

Had blind daffs at the lawn edges. Chopped back the trees and got more sunlight to them, plenty flowers now.

Welcome None. :) They are definitely not Daffodils but a close up shot of the leaves would help identification please.

Here's a clearer picture of the non-flowering stems if anyone can identify. Thanks!

Hi @Kon, Have a google at Crocosmia ( old name Montbretia ). It's a summer flowering ( oink/yellow/orange or red ) flowering corm that can grow into a clump but is easily split and divided uo.
