As per the title, this is only occuring on one of my Buddleia Davidii bushes.

Any ideas what might be the cause please, as well as a possible treatment?

    Thanks

    I think it's from aphids.

Thanks. Would the aphids still be visible though? I ask as I've examined a pice of the affected leaf under a powerful magnifier yet I see no sign of any aphids.

Yes I go with Sirius too.. The sooty Mold builds up after a while from the aphids, especially if the ants are farming them..
Have a look at the RHS link here..

      Thanks a lot.

Is there a good pet friendly way to dispose of aphids (just in case my dogs try and lick the leaves for any reason)?

Well personally I use Neem oil diluted with horticultural soap and water and spray on. This is the ratio I use for a litre and I think it is pretty standard.. 1 litre of warm water... 1 teaspoon Cold pressed Neem oil... 1/3 teaspoon of insecticidal soap.. Mix and spray. I then keep the dogs away until dry..
