Composting info please

    Watching Monty last night he was explaining the difference between leaf mold & compost……….Yes I understand but….You compost leaves from your Veg & Flowers, there are leaves in there. I use a Darlek and have no problem with tree leaves, which appear, to compost down ready for the following season. Thoughts please.

      Yes, @john558, I put tree leaves in the dalek too. I don't get that many of them, so they're not worth dealing with separately. I find they break down fine, and at the same rate as everything else. If I had lots of tree leaves and lots of room I would probably do them separately though, because leaf mould is nice stuff!

            We've been shredding a large amount of hawthorn branches (too much for our green bins) and I wanted to know if the shreddings are compostable?

            They are low in nitrogen so you'll need to mix green stuff in, takes about 4 years :)
