Although too wet underfoot for the planned work I did notice that I have the following flowering lobelia, calendula, nigella, Scilla hohenhackeri, S mischtshenkoana, Ipheion "Tessa", Cantua buxifolia, Salvia darcyi, S * "Amisted", S involuctra, S guaranitica, S curviflora, S microphylla and several hybrid hellebores. To my mind all of these are either early or late. Not complaining just commenting.

I was in my own garden this morning, and noticed flower buds on my viburnum. I havent a clue if these are early or late either. It does seem funny to see buds when there are no leaves on it.

Gibasis pellucida is almost in bloom............
[IMG]Gibasis pellucida by longk48, on Flickr

That is surprising as despite supposedly only being hardy down to 5 to 10°c this native to tropical South America has been kept just frost free over the last few weeks.

I have a canterbury bell and echinacea still in flower, considering pruning them off to 'give them a rest' before Summer flowering as I don't want them to exhaust themselves

@Mark56 It sounds a good idea it me, as it's something I would do with the time of year and how the weather is but other members will give you a lot more sound advice:)
