Courgettes - two of my 'Patty Pan' variety look like knobbly little pumpkins ...

Patty Plan is a strange looking courgette variety, flat-ish, almost like a mini flying saucer.

Two of mine have grown into a very strange shape - the colour is as normal but these look like pale mini-pumpkins, they are almost spherical, slightly knobbly too.

I know that rarely some courgettes can be toxic due to the presence of Cucurbitacin - however, I'm just curious if I should be cautious about eating these strange looking Patty Pan fruits. I don't generally have any issues with eating vegetables that aren't of a 'perfect' shape, but these Patty Pan fruits are particularly weird and 'deformed'.

As for Cururbitacin this is often described as imparting a bitter taste to some fruits rather than ban being out and out toxic. Most of these things evolved as herbivoury defence mechanisms.
