Tom Waits won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but he certainly has his own style.
I’ve always been impressed by his rendition of this well-known tune...

Crimbo eve viewing for Liz and I was Cry Freedom again so bedtime listening had to include this...........

Robert Tripp is a genius very much in the mould of Eno. Perfect excuse for this...........

Tuesday night saw me dismissed by Liz as she "had things to do" so I grabbed the car keys and Bowies Black Star album. I started the engine, turned on the heated seat and then simply sat there with my eyes shut listening to one of his best albums. The final track of what he knew to be his last album was perfectly chosen...........

On the subject of last tracks of final albums it doesn't get any better than Massage The History by Sonic Youth (although they didn't know that it was to be their last album)...............

@longk , Fripp certainly has his own sound. I notice Ford are using this in their addy...

I’ve heard of Sonic Youth, but hadn’t paid any attention, good stuff. They kinda reminded me of The Dandy Warhols...

Another one, from the same album...

I love everything the guy did Freddy, but my favourites would be Walker's later experimental albums like 'Tilt' and 'The Drift', perhaps a little too avant-garde for most but I adore them and certainly worth a listen, IMO. :) There was just something beautiful, intense and apocalyptic about his voice in those albums.

Ooh, just came to an exciting realisation, I have yet to hear 5 albums from one of my favourite bands, thought they'd only released a couple since 'A Thousand Leaves'! A band that never seemed to make a bad album, although I thought 'Goo' was a tad weaker compared to the rest. But still some wonderful songs!

Yesterday it was this album, I always forget how insanely talented The Doors were when I haven't listened to them for a while. This morning it's absolute 80s perfection AFAIC!

                      Nick
