Just another beautiful song by John Denver ,just thinking back to when we were kids.
Just take time to listen to the lyrics.

“Do you remember days not so very long ago ,when the world was run by people twice your size”

You can't beat the old tunes can you?
Some sound so much better when sung by the people who wrote them.

I love that Fender Rhodes sound.

I've the original 1966 45rpm record by James and Bobby Purify in one of my jukeboxes. it made no. 6 in the US but didn't chart in the UK.

An utterly shambolic live performance by New Order that is utterly brilliant...............

Who needs a drum machine when you have Stephen Morris - one of the all time greats on the drums. He was in a right cobby mood in that performance and really took it out on the drums. Here's a couple from his Joy Division days.............

I've had this CD for over twenty years. she's a great live jazz singer, now seventy-six.

i like to pay this track occasionally.

              A really funny story,
              a great Carole King number,
Some fine live jazz singing at a club over a great backing trio.

I've always loved the Willie Nelson version of Always On My Mind but I saw this on BBC4 last night.................

Quite simply the definitive version by which all others should be judged.

Some people go to a lot of effort to make little videos of clips of their favourite TV dramas, to put on Youtube, with a sound track of an appropriate tune.
In some cases others have the same idea, same clips but a different tune.

One of my favourite TV dramas was "Justified," about a contempory deputy US Marshal, Raylan Givens, it had multiple series. I watched every episode then bought the box set and watched it again.

There's a sub plot about the relationship he has with his ex-wife Winona.

The song is by the Randy Rogers Band. you can't beat a country and western story.

So many positive responses below the video.

I've always liked Nat Cole. Such a short life.
His daughter died at the age of 65, no age these days really.
                            I think she was underrated.

This is my favourite video of hers. Recorded three years before her death. I ripped it and occasionally play it in my car.

The two backing singers are excellent. They had no need to "glam up" to impress.
I love the orchestration, the way the voices go back and forth.

Woo, this takes me back to my teens aged 15-17 when I lived with my father in Alabama. Dinner was always a proper affair in the dining room lasting about an hour (putting one's knife and fork down between mouthfuls) and listening to Nat King Cole, my Father's favourite. It was about that time The Everly Brothers came on the TV and listening from the sidelines my Father said "Who are those girls with no voices." Here is one of my favourites by them ...
